I think they mean the armor to be 'heavy', considering the armor does look heavy for the jackal! Get it? Never mind.

You call that a heavy Kig-Yar? Where's the heavy weapon? The plasma pistol isn't a heavy weapon.

I know it's confusing because there is no rank of a Jackal Heavy. Not sure why they call them this when their shield is identifiable as a Major.

shield colour in this game means nothing its how strong it and the armor is. that what defines a heavy from other classes.

If it was a Heavy class they usually carry Heavy weapons this Jackal however is not.

when have you ever sees a jackal with a heavy weapon? its the fact that there armor is much stronger that classifies them as a heavy.
